10.0    DISCLOSURE

Members pledge to disclose to their clients in advance any fees, commissions or other considerations that they receive for equipment, supplies or services they could recommend to their clients.

WHAT THIS MEANS

10.1 Disclose to your client any personal, professional or other business interests that may jeopardize or call into question your client's confidence in your integrity, objectivity or capacity to provide independence.

10.2 Do not accept a fee from both your client and a third party for the same recommendation to your client.

10.3 Finder’s fees paid for marketing and representing other consultants to clients are permitted, so there is no conflict of interest and the possibility of receiving such a fee does not influence your objectivity regarding who to refer or recommend. They do not need to be disclosed, so long as your client is not also paying you a fee for your referral or recommendations (no double dipping).

10.4 Any marketing, administrative or project management fees between you and your team members are strictly internal administrative affairs, even when a team member bills your client directly. Your client should not have to be involved in the administrative affairs of your firm.

10.5    If your client wants to engage directly with a consultant who is part of your project team, any finder’s fees, marketing, administrative or project management fees due are strictly an issue between you and your team member, even when your team member bills your client directly. Your client should not have to be involved in the administrative affairs of your firm.
